Books can take you anywhere – they certainly have helped guide me as a professional. Here is a list of five books that have inspired different stages of my career so far.

Read Island was selected by the Colorado Humanities' Center for the Book as one of three finalists for the Colorado Book Award for Children's Literature this week!

Wow! What a tremendous recognition - earning the Spark Honor is especially sweet because it is awarded by the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators for a children’s book published through a non-traditional publishing route. That's a mouthful, but this little seal of approval says it all.
